The Gala Dinner took place on Monday, June 11th at the Tor Crescenza Castle. Great artists like Claude Lorrain and Nicola Poussin were inspired by this site and painted its beautiful landscapes, most famous among them 'La Valle del Pussino'. The castle, decorated with fountains and water features, stands in a park just a few minutes from the center of Rome. It was built in the first half of the fifteenth century by the Marquis Francesco Crescenzi on the site of an old watchtower dating from 1100.
A taste of history accompanied the Social Dinner to take place inside the Vatican Museums on Tuesday, June 12th.
Vatican City is the smallest independent state in the world but has one of the most outstanding collections of art. During the guided tour and later, during dinner, masterpieces such as the Candelabra Gallery, the Tapestries Gallery, the Geographical Maps Gallery, and the famous Sistine Chapel painted by Michelangelo which includes the large fresco The Last Judgement can be admired.
